FAQ's

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions we get. Hope it helps!

Do you deliver?
Yes we can deliver your cake for you. An additional delivery fee will be quoted based on location of where the cake needs to be delivered. Delivery will be subject to availability.
What information do you need so that you can provide a quote?
We would need:-
  1. Number of guests you want to feed
  2. Date the cake is required for collection/delivery
  3. Is delivery required?
  4. Design preferences – as much detail as possible (photos are helpful)
How soon will I get a response once I’ve submitted my enquiry form?
Usually within 48 hours, this does vary during busy periods such as wedding season and weekends when orders are being completed for collection/delivery. Additional messages do not speed up a response.
How far in advance do I need to book my wedding cake?
Usually 6-9 months, but the sooner the better really as bookings are taken as far as 12 months in advance. This allows enough time to talk through designs, flavour options, cake tasting appointments and confirm the booking. There is a lot more time needed when discussing wedding cake orders because the requirements are so much higher. So the later you leave it to book your wedding cake, the risk is that we won’t have availability.
How far in advance do I need to book a birthday cake?
Usually 4-6 weeks is best to avoid disappointment of space not being available, but again, sooner the better. If short notice, we will try our best to accommodate, however we may not be able to order bespoke cake toppers or accommodate elaborate designs if ordered at short notice.
How far in advance do I need to decide on wedding cake flavours?
3 months at the latest before your big day to ensure it gives enough time to plan out ingredients in amongst other orders I will have booked in.
When should I have my cake tasting?
3-6 months before the wedding day is ideal. This ensures that we also have availability to conduct the cake tasting in enough time. We do schedule out specific dates throughout the year for cake tasting appointments and will try to fit you in for those specified dates. If you are unable to make those dates then we will try to accommodate where possible.
Can you source flowers to decorate my cake?
I do have specific local florists that I use if I’m required to source flowers for cake decoration. I would need to know what flowers you are looking for and how much decoration you would want so I can get a quote from my florist. This will then be added on to the rest of your order balance. Not all flowers are suitable to be used with food, so you may not be able to have the exact flowers you want if they are toxic. You may also find for consistency that you want to use the florist you are using for your wedding day for example as then you will be guaranteed to get matching florals.

Can you source a cake topper for me?
Yes I have a supplier I order cake toppers from; they start at £13 upwards depending on the design. I can add this into your quote if you state you would want a cake topper when ordering.
How long does a cake last after I’ve collected it?
A cakes freshness decreases over time. The best time to eat the cake is within the first 24/48 hours of collection/delivery. After that the cake will start to dry out, so the cake should be eaten within 5 days maximum.
Do I need to keep the cake refrigerated?
If it’s a buttercream cake then yes, you will need to keep it refrigerated until you plan to eat it. When you want to eat the cake, take the buttercream cake out of the fridge an hour before consumption to allow it to come to room temperature.
If it’s a fondant icing covered cake, this can be kept in its box in a cool, dark room until ready for consumption.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes to secure you’re booking a deposit will be required. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required for wedding cakes and larger cakes. A £20 deposit is required for smaller birthday cakes. Your booking is not secure until a deposit has been paid which means that if another customer comes along in the meantime for the same date and pays a deposit, then you may miss out if you haven’t secured your booking with a deposit.
When do I have to pay the balance?
For wedding cakes the balance is due one month before your wedding day.
For celebrations cakes the balance is due a week before collection.
How can I pay for my order?
Cash or bank transfer is accepted.
What if I need to cancel an order?
Please see Terms and Conditions for more information. The link is at the bottom of the page.
Can I change the design of my cake?
This will depend on what the change is and whether we have availability to accommodate the change. We will always try to accommodate any changes as best we can but during busy periods this may not always be possible.
Do you do cupcakes or cake pops?
We do and you can find all this information on our cake and portion size page.
Do you hire out cake/cupcake stands?
We have a small selection of cake stands ranging from 10 inch to 12 inch in diameter. There is a £20 refundable deposit (refunded on safe return) and then a hire fee on top of that.
